Season 2023-2024

Caprio Winners 2010

The Seventh Biennial Caprio I Young Artists Competition was held on Sunday, March 14, 2010 at the First Presbyterian Church of Lambertville. The Caprio I Young Artists Competition, held every other year, honors the late John-Michael Caprio, the founding conductor of the Riverside Symphonia. In addition to his work as conductor and music director of St. Patrick’s Cathedral in New York, Caprio was a former teacher who loved the mix of music and young people, whether it was exposing young listeners to classical music for the first time or working with talented young performers already preparing for their own musical careers.

The Riverside Symphonia Caprio I Young Artists Competition is open to all non-keyboard instrumentalists who will be no more than 22 years of age at the time of the finals competition. All contestants must reside in or study in New Jersey or Pennsylvania. The first place winner received $2000 and a performance with the Riverside Symphonia. The second place winner received $1000.
